Record Visual Acuity in Your Preferred Notation

Each doctor can choose the notation they record visual acuity in. Distance and pinhole acuity can be in US Snellen (20/20) or Metric (6/6); near acuity can be in US Snellen, Jaeger (J1), M-units (0.5M) or N (N4). The exam's acuity dropdowns then offer that doctor's notation.

Nothing already recorded changes: an acuity entered in one notation keeps showing exactly as it was entered, even if the doctor later switches notation.

Set a doctor's notation

  1. Go to Employees and open the doctor.
  2. Make sure Appointment is ticked. The Exam tab only appears for people who take appointments.
  3. Open the Exam tab.
  4. Choose Distance VA (DVA / PVA): US Snellen or Metric (6 m).
  5. Choose Near VA (NVA): US Snellen, Jaeger, M-units or N.
  6. Save. The doctor sees the new notation the next time they open or refresh Got2.

US Snellen is the default for both.

What the doctor sees in the exam

In the exam's acuity fields (for example Pretesting ▸ Unaided Acuities: DVA, PH and NVA; the glasses Rx; the final Rx), the dropdown lists only the doctor's chosen notation. If the field already holds a value in another notation, that value stays at the top of the list.
